Enjoy the splendor of the Weka Pass Railway in the evening light, behind a pair of heritage diesel-electric locomotives aboard our Easter Evening Train Special
Join the train at Glenmark Station for your 3 and a half hour return train journey, with a dinner stop at Waikari. Our popular open air carriages will present stunning evening views along the railway, rarely seen from our tracks at this time of day!
An approximately 2 hour stop at Waikari will allow plenty of time to enjoy a meal at the villages’ wonderful hospitality outlets, including the Star and Garter Tavern & the End of the Line cafe – now under new ownership! There are a number of short scenic walks in the area that also may be enjoyed during your evening stopover!
Timetable:
Depart Glenmark – 5:15 pm
Arrive Waikari – 5:50 pm
Dinner Stop in Waikari Village and an opportunity to explore the township
Depart Waikari – 8:00 pm
Arrive Glenmark – 8:45 pm
