You can carry your bicycle on our train, but you must book a space in addition to buying a ticket
Climb aboard the 11:30am departure from Glenmark Station, placing your bike into the guards van with the help of a friendly staff member. After an enjoyable scenic train ride arriving into Waikari Station at 12:15pm, enjoy a couple of hours on the rural roads and pathways. Wide roads and a path along Princes Street in the village make for a safe cycling adventure for all ages.More enthusiastic cyclists may wish to travel further afield. Pyramid Valley and Hawarden are both less than 10km (each way) from Waikari Station through easy country. Clamber back onboard the train, perhaps after a cold drink at one of the Waikari outlets, at 3:10pm.Rest your legs and enjoy the hills roll by. Please note that while there is no additional cost to carry your bike in the guards van, there is limited space. We cannot normally carry more than 5 bikes at a time. There are also a number of scenic roads for cycling around Waipara if the van is full, as well as the Waipara Vineyard Trail. We request that you push your bikes on our platforms and that you do not bring them into our buildings
