Evening Train Special
Enjoy an evening on the Weka Pass Railway aboard our Show Weekend night train special from Glenmark to Waikari behind diesel-electric locomotive Di 1102, owned by our friends at the Diesel Traction Group.
Join the train at Glenmark Station for your 3 and a half hour return train journey, with a dinner stop at Waikari. Our popular open air carriages will provide the ultimate experience along our railway as you listen to the locomotive making full noise up the climb through the Weka Pass during the evening!
An approximately 2 hour stop at Waikari will allow plenty of time to enjoy a meal at one of the villages’ wonderful hospitality outlets! These are the Waikari Kitchen, End of the Line Cafe 23 & the Star & Garter Hotel, all an easy stroll from the railway station at Waikari!
NOTE: Dinner meals must be pre-booked directly through either food outlet before the day of the night train! Please contact them directly.
Timetable:
Depart Glenmark – 5:30 pm
Arrive Waikari – 6:15 pm
Dinner Stop in Waikari Village and an opportunity to explore the township
Depart Waikari – 8:15 pm
Arrive Glenmark – 9:00 pm
Tickets are not transferable to other trains.
You must ride the train booked.
You will be sent an eTicket when your booking is paid. Although it is not vital, please bring along your eTicket to speed up the check in process at Glenmark Station on the day.
