Description
A 1967 Linwood Loco Scene print, exposed by Paul Markholm and displayed wall-ready in a card frame. The image features examples of the Ab, C, Ja and Kb steam locomotive classes.
Linwood Depot was the major base in North Canterbury for locomotives for many years, and for some time the only one remaining after smaller rural outposts were deemed infeasible. At one time, the sheds, yard and associated infrastructure sprawled all the way from Wilsons Road to Ensors Road. Very little remnants of this once grand precinct remain on-site to this day.
